JOHN G. BUNDSCHUH
John (Jack) G. Bundschuh heads People’s United Bank in Connecticut. He is responsible for the strategic development of all commercial and business lines, wealth management and insurance across the state.
Bundschuh joined People’s United in 1986 as an Asset Based Lending Field Examiner. He has held various positions of increasing responsibility including Relationship Manager, Stamford Regional Manager, Southern CT Market Manager and CT/NY Market Manager.
Prior to joining People’s United, Bundschuh was a credit analyst with the Union Trust Company in Stamford, CT.
Bundschuh is active in supporting numerous non-profit organizations that provide health and welfare service to many people throughout People’s United Connecticut footprint. He is also Director of the Bridgeport Economic Development Corporation.
Bundschuh holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the State University of New York.
MICHAEL J. CASPARINO
Retail President, Northern Connecticut
Michael J. Casparino heads People's United Bank in Northern Connecticut. He is responsible for the overall strategic direction for branches in Connecticut's Hartford, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven, New London, Tolland and Windham Counties.
Casparino joined People's United Bank as a member of the bank's Retail Management Training Program in 1986. He has fulfilled various assignments of increasing responsibility including those of assistant vice president and branch manager, vice president and area manager, and first vice president and senior growth manager in the Regional Banking division. He is also an active partner in the bank's University of Connecticut athletic sponsorship.
Active in his community, Casparino serves as Chairman of the Tax Board of Assessment Appeals for the Town of Rocky Hill and is an Executive Board Member within the Greater Hartford area for Hartford Hospital, CT Bankers Association, Hartford Economic Development Corporation, Governor’s Prevention Partnership, West Hartford Children’s Museum, the Metro Hartford Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Commission, and the Greater Hartford Insurance-Financial Services Cluster. He has served on several panels appointed by the Judiciary committee of the state legislature, including committees for senior citizen housing, IOLTA accounts and mechanics liens. He has been the recipient of numerous community service, youth development, and volunteerism awards, including the People's United Bank Community Leadership Award.
Casparino received his bachelor's degree in business administration-finance from the University of Connecticut. He also graduated from the National School of Banking with honors.
ARMANDO F. GONCALVES
Retail President, Southern Connecticut
Armando F. Goncalves heads People's United Bank in Southern Connecticut. He oversees the overall strategic direction for branches in Fairfield County, Connecticut.
Goncalves began his career at People's United in 1975 when he worked as a part-time branch teller at the Bridgeport North and Park office while in college. After graduating, he was selected for the Retail Management Training Program. Goncalves received successive promotions including vice president, Small Business and Commercial Checking market manager; vice president and branch manager for the Bridgeport Main office; area manager, Greater Bridgeport Region; and first vice president and growth manager in People's United Regional Banking division.
Active in his community, Goncalves is a board member of Action for Bridgeport Community Development, as well as the United Way of Eastern Fairfield County, Bridgeport Rotary Club, the Barnum Festival and the Portuguese-American Civic League. He is president of the Greater Bridgeport Community Enterprises, Inc., and former board member and past president of the International Institute of Connecticut, and the Bridgeport Y.M.C.A. In addition, Goncalves was recently named to serve on Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch's transition team. He has been honored with numerous community service and volunteerism awards, including the People's United Bank Community Leadership Award and a State of Connecticut Governor's Award for Community Service.
Goncalves received his bachelor's degree from Sacred Heart University, and is also a graduate of the National School of Banking.
DIANNE M. MERCIER
President, New Hampshire
Dianne M. Mercier heads People's United Bank in New Hampshire.
Mercier began her banking career in 1985 and has spent the past 24 years actively involved in the New Hampshire banking market.
Mercier joined Ocean Bank in 2003 as Senior Vice President and Group Manager for Commercial Lending has been responsible for business and market development in Manchester, Nashua and Concord, New Hampshire.
Prior to joining Ocean Bank, Mercier was State Director, Community Banking for Citizens Bank, where she was responsible for the initial start-up and strategic development of the State Community Banking Group in New Hampshire. She also played an active role in the implementation of a comprehensive Small Business Lending Model.
Mercier is a leader in the local community and is actively involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Manchester and the Greater Manchester Family YMCA. She is currently serving on the Board for the Central Business District Committee for the City of Manchester and is a Trustee for the Elliot Health System. Additionally, she is a member of the 2009 class of the Leadership New Hampshire program.
Mercier holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Southern New Hampshire University.
HOWARD C. BLUVER
President, New York
Howard C. Bluver heads People’s United Bank in New York. He is responsible for the strategic development of all commercial and business lines, retail banking, wealth management and insurance across the state.
Prior to joining People’s United, Bluver was the President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Suffolk County National Bank and Suffolk Bancorp, a commercial bank and bank holding company, respectively, headquartered in Riverhead, New York. People’s United Financial Corp. completed the acquisitions of Suffolk County National Bank and Suffolk Bancorp on April 1, 2017.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Bluver was the founder and President, from 2005 through 2011, of JDS Financial Group, LLC, a consulting firm, which served the regulatory, transactional, risk management, corporate governance, due diligence and operational needs of the commercial banking, thrift, mortgage and investment banking sectors. He has also served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Enterprise Risk Officer at GreenPoint Bank and GreenPoint Financial Corp., New York, New York, and Deputy Chief Counsel at the United States Office of Thrift Supervision in Washington, D.C. A member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Georgetown in Washington, D.C., from 2005 until 2016, when the Bank of Georgetown was acquired, Bluver also served on the Audit Committee and Strategic Planning Committee of the Bank of Georgetown. His career began at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C., where he last held the position as Chief of the branch in the Division of Corporation Finance that covered financial institutions.
Bluver is active in supporting numerous non-profit organizations that provide health and welfare services to many people throughout People's United's New York footprint.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Albany, SUNY and a law degree from University at Buffalo School of Law.
MICHAEL L. SEAVER
Michael L. Seaver currently serves as Vermont President of People’s United Bank, a $44 billion diversified financial services company based in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Michael's 37-year banking career began in 1981 when he joined Chittenden Bank after graduating from Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in business administration.
Michael serves as a Trustee of Mayo Healthcare, Inc. in Northfield, Vermont. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Saint Michael’s College, Chair of the Vermont Business Roundtable, Past President of the Board of United Way of Northwest Vermont and Past Chair and a member of the Executive Committee of the Vermont Bankers Association.
PATRICK J. SULLIVAN
Patrick J. Sullivan heads People's United Bank in Massachusetts. He is responsible for the strategic development of all commercial and business lines, retail banking, wealth management and insurance across the state.
Sullivan has served in a number of executive positions, spanning 35 years throughout New England. He has been President and CEO of the Howard Bank, Burlington VT, and Legacy Bank, Pittsfield MA. At Sovereign Bank, he held the dual role of President of the New England division and Managing Director of Corporate Banking throughout the bank's footprint.
Sullivan has actively participated in community development throughout his career. Currently, he is a Director of The Boston Chamber of Commerce, The Massachusetts Business Roundtable, and Massachusetts Business Development Corp, where he serves as chairman. In addition, his current professional associations include the Turnaround Management Association, Commercial Finance Association, Massachusetts High Technology Council, Smaller Business Association of New England, Hundred Club of Massachusetts, and Massachusetts Bankers Association.
Sullivan earned both his bachelor's and master's in business administration at Bryant University, and he is a graduate of the Executive Management Program at the Amos Tuck School of Dartmouth College.
DANIEL P. THORNTON
Dan Thornton heads People's United Bank in Maine. Thornton joined People's United Bank in 2011 as Senior Vice President, Senior Lender for the Maine market. Prior to that he was Senior Vice President, Senior Lender at TD Bank in Portland, Maine. He brings close to three decades of experience in commercial lending to Maine businesses and institutions.
Thornton is the President of the Board of Ronald McDonald House of Portland and is a Director at The Institute for Family Owned Business.
He earned his bachelor's degree in resource economics from the University of Maine and his master's in business from Husson University.
